Born in Belarus, Lana Gautier began acting when she was six years old. Even then, the lure of Hollywood was intoxicating. As a child, she told everyone who would listen (and even those who wouldn’t) that she was going to America to become a famous actress. They didn’t believe her, but she proved them wrong. After graduating from college, Lana boarded a plane and headed to Hollywood.
On screen, Lana has proven to be quite versatile. In only her fourth audition after arriving in the United States, she landed the role of Gloriella in the critically acclaimed short Love Thy Neighbor, a film that won a Director’s Guild Award and was later showcased at the Cannes Film Festival. She played a major supporting role in a feature film Blackmark (Sony Entertainment) and lead roles for the highly acclaimed short films Neptune and The Birthday Card (Best Film, Youth Category at Holly Shorts Film Festival) Through her own production company, Mental Note Productions, Lana has begun development of the feature film, The Vardøger. She also starred in and co-produced the comedic short film Pitching Jesus and plays the title role in the popular web series Ask Dr. Juli.
Lana has received professional acting training from the prestigious Sanford Meisner Center, The Acting Corps and South Coast Repertory. She is a Graduate of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.
Her hobbies include outdoor exploration, numismatic acquisition, freehand sketching and code breaking.
Love Notes
Lana did some great improvisation in her audition, which really impressed me, and I loved her cherubic face…. There’s nothing harsh in her appearance. That was key in casting for the Gloriella role.
Versatile and talented, charming and sweet. She’s a pleasure to work with both with the camera’s rolling and when the director says ‘cut!’
You are the best Lana! Very talented and great to work with. You held the film together…
Thank you so much! You played the role of “Stella” perfectly. Because of you, I was able to get this film done so well.
…I wanted to personally email you and offer you the role of Dr. Richmond! …I was just really blown away with your audition and how you managed to take the lines and form a version of Dr. Richmond that is not only believable but also very much concerned with Jacob and his well being… I liked your preparation of the lines as well as the little ticks you gave Dr. Richmond… I think working with you will be a really great opportunity to explore more of Dr. Richmond’s goals and her motives for helping and understanding Jacob. So once again, congratulations!
